Every year, Government of India observes Anti-Terrorism Day. This year, High Commission of India observed Anti-Terrorism Day through the taking of an Anti-Terrorism pledge at India Place, London. The objective behind observance of this day was to wean away the youth from terrorism and the cult of violence by highlighting the sufferings of common people and showing as to how it is prejudicial to the national interest. India has been one of the countries that have been affected by sustained terrorist activities supported, sponsored and financed from abroad.

This year's ceremony assumed special significance in light of deplorable terrorist attacks world-over including the recent incident outside the British Parliament.

The ceremony to express solidarity with the fight against the terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and to disseminate the message of universal peace and harmony was attended by High Commission officers and leading community members.

High Commissioner Sh. Y.K. Sinha addressing the guests at the occasion said that the scourge of terrorism affects innocent lives not just in one country but across the globe. No country and no people should shelter terrorists, promote terrorists or appease terrorists.
