Hon'ble Minister of State for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy, Shri. Piyush Goyal's visit to London

Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy visited the UK on 12-14 May, 2017.

During the visit Shri Goyal chaired the investors’ meet organised by London Stock Exchange (LSE) and Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) at London Stock Exchange. He also witnessed listing of NTPC Bonds at London Stock Exchange.

Shri Goyal met the editorial team of the Financial Times, London and attended India-UK Roundtable on Energy organised by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Department of International Trade (DIT). He also attended the 4th India-UK Conclave 2017 which discussed the rapidly transforming India and its engagement with the world under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Hon’ble Minister later joined in the UK-India Awards-2017 ceremony, which celebrated the most influential personalities in India-UK relations.

The Hon’ble Minister launched UJALA, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL)’s affordable lighting scheme, of which HCI London became the first beneficiary in the UK.

Shri Goyal also addressed the Youth Convention at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Neasden, London and met and interacted with hundreds of members of the Indian Community, later in the day.

During the visit the Hon’ble Minister, 2 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) were signed which were between EESL and High Commission of India, London, Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA) and British Electrotechnical & Allied Manufacturer’s Association (BEAMA).
