High Commission of India organized a commemorative event at India House on the occasion of the 350th Prakash Utsav of the Guru Gobind Singh ji.

High Commissioner Shri Y.K. Sinha welcomed the participants from the Sikh and wider Punjabi community to India House on this auspicious occasion, and extolled the virtues of Guru Gobind Singh ji who stood for national cohesion, fairness, freedom of religion and above all, 'sarbat da bhala' (welfare of all). He said that this pious occasion provides us the perfect opportunity to introspect, and to work towards building a better, happier and more united world.

This event followed the visit of High Commission officers a day earlier, to the historic Shepherds Bush Gurdwara Sahib the oldest Gurudwara in not only the UK, but all of Europe, to pay homage to Guru Gobind Singh ji.

High Commissioner also informed all present of the plan of the High Commission to organize, together with prominent Sikh organizations, several
events celebrating Guru Gobind Singh ji's birth anniversary throughout U.K.
