India-UK Young Professionals Network

The High Commission of India in London today (May 12, 2016) hosted a group of young Indian and Indian origin professionals to launch a new initiative of bringing them together as an “India-UK Young Professionals Network (IYPM)”.

Over 35 professionals, representing areas such as banking, accountancy, finance, IT, law, etc, attended the event. Launching the initiative, in his remarks, the Deputy High Commissioner, Dr. Virander Paul recognised the achievements of young Indian professionals in the United Kingdom in diverse areas and hoped that IYPN would serve to provide a unique networking experience to its members through exchange of ideas aimed at enabling young Indian professionals to participate in India’s growth story and to contribute to India-UK relations. He added that the participants at the inaugural meeting should work together on a plan to consolidate IYPN as a platform for regular engagement of young Indian professionals with the High Commission. Manav Gupta, Managing Director, Goldman Sachs, led the session as convenor of the group with senior leaders from banks, hedge funds, law firms, retail, oil and gas industry. Manav Gupta said - "It is a real privilege for us to get this unique platform from the High Commission, to engage, enrich and energize the young professional Indian diaspora and we see this as a significant opportunity to participate in and impact India's growth story. It is a pioneering initiative, a first of its kind, to engage with young professionals. This will add tremendous value to us, our community as we leverage some of the best skills and minds to give back to india. I thank the Deputy High Commissioner, Dr Virender Paul and his entire team for initiating this event"
