Round-Table meeting on the Indo-UK Institute of Health Initiative at India House

High Commission of India to the U.K. organized a Round-Table meeting on the Indo-UK Institute of Health Initiative at India House on December 16, 2016. This initiative proposes to inject up to £1 billion investment into India’s Healthcare System by setting up world class health facilities in India, for which the negotiations with 11 State Governments are in various stages of progress. The proposal also found mention in the commercial announcements contained in the joint Statement on the United Kingdom-India Summit 2015 during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the U.K. in November, 2015. The event was attended by U.K. based stakeholders in the project including some of the senior representatives from UK Department of Health, CEOs of big partner companies, senior medical experts and other health sector participants. The participants appraised the High Commission of the progress of the initiative and the various potentialities of mutual benefit for the two countries' health sectors.
