Tamil Community Meeting at India House

As part of the wider community outreach efforts of the High Commission, a Tamil Community Meeting was organised at India House on 26th May 2017, which was attended by leaders of over 40 Tamil Associations based all over the UK. High Commissioner Mr. Y K Sinha in his address spoke of the important contributions made by the Tamil Community in the UK in different walks of life, especially in top professional areas. He also encouraged more association of the Community in boosting India-UK relations especially after Brexit, by pitching in by supporting flagship programmes of Government of India like Make in India, Digital India, etc. The event was attended by around 200 prominent members of the Tamil Community in the UK, including professionals, Councillors and businessmen. Earlier, Mr A S Rajan, Minister (Co-ordination) welcomed all to the event and spoke of the need for sustained participation of Indian Communities in such future interactions with the High Commission
