List of MoUs signed during the visit of Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal to the UK

I. Industry

  1. MOU between WBIDC and UKIBC to raise awareness of investment potential of West Bengal in UK and to facilitate collaborative efforts to set up businesses in UK and West Bengal.
  2. MOU between Pandrol Ltd. and Rahee Infratech Limited for setting up an industrial unit to manufacture of Rail Fastening Clips in India.
  3. A joint venture between Fonz Leather Styles, UK and J.C. International Ltd., Kolkata to set up a leather products manufacturing unit
  4. Fomas group of Italy will investment in ArcVac Forgecast for setting up of a forging press. (50:50 JV agreement)
  5. Letter of Invitation to be given to Laura Ashley, a major UK Home Furnishings brand and Luke Irwin from Obeetee, to source West Bengal handicrafts
  6. MoU for a technology – based collaboration between Jacobs U.K. Limited, (Jacobs) which is into the business of providing engineering consultancy services and is a provider of technical, professional and construction services and Nicco Parks & Resorts Limited (Nicco), which inter-alia provides technical consultancy and does engineering and supply of amusement park rides.
  7. Invitation of Guidance to be signed by WBIDC, India Tea Association and UK Tea Packeters (Typhoo Tea Ltd, Tata Global Beverages, Hamstead Tea & Coffee) for a proposal to set up a Tea Park with an objective to create world class facilities for warehousing processing, blending, flavouring, packaging and other value addition activities relating to Tea.
  8. Technical Collaboration between the Eden Project, UK and Highland Genesis Developers Pvt. Ltd for a collaboration in the development of the micro climate controlled bio domes for “Eco Tourism Township” in Kolkata.
  9. MoU between Bengal Nestors Industries Limited (BNIL) and Genus of UK to enter a tie-up for up-gradation of genetic potential in the dairy animals in West Bengal.
  10. MoU between T. Oesterwinter GmbH & Co.KG and P. C. Chanda & Co (P) Ltd where T. Oesterwinetr GmbH & Co.KG will provide technology support to P. C. Chanda to develop new products in the factory of P. C. Chanda.               T. Oesterwinetr GmbH & Co.KG will also provide assistance to P. C. Chanda to expand the range of products manufactured for increasing sale in the Indian market and for entry into the International Market.
  11. MoU between Paul Mech and Shopping Bag Directs Ltd to take Bengal grown aromatic rice (Gobindabhog) to the international market
  12. II. Health

  13. MoU between the Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal and the Royal College of General Practitioners for technical support for running post graduate diploma courses on family medicine in West Bengal.
  14. MoU between the West Bengal Health and Family Welfare Society(a registered society under the control of the Government of West Bengal) and the College of Nursing, University of Dundee, Scotland, UK for technical collaboration in the area of training of advanced nursing practitioners.
  15. MOU between the Society for Health and Demographic Surveillance (a registered society under the control of the Government of West Bengal) and the University College of London Institute for Global Health for technical collaboration in the matter of public health education.
  16. MoU between the Society for Health and Demographic Surveillance) a registered society under the control of the Government of West Bengal) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the area of public health education.
  17. III. Urban Development

  18. Technical cooperation between West Bengal Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBHIDCO), Govt of West Bengal and Jason Bruges Studio to bring about smart technological installations in New Town Kolkata
  19. MoU between WBHIDCO and Future Cities Catapult for technical collaboration by bringing together industry, universities and city leaders to make New Town Kolkata a Smart City
  20. IV. Higher Education

  21. MoU between The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London and Presidency University, Kolkata to establish academic cooperation on South Asian studies will be signed. This programme will allow M.A students from SOAS to study at Presidency University and PhD students from Presidency University to work at SOAS.
  22. MoU between The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London and Presidency University, Kolkata to establish Academic exchange programme to advance studies in Bangla at SOAS M.A and PhD scholars wishing to study Bangla at SOAs will be supported from Presidency University/ West Bengal.
  23. MoU between East Anglia University, Norwich, UK and Presidency University, Kolkata seeks further promotion and understanding of the creative and critical aspects of literary studies. In order to enhance this the University of East Anglia proposes to set up a Centre at Presidency University. Proposed name of the Centre is ‘University of East Anglia India Centre for the creative and the critical at Presidency University ( UEAICCCPU)
  24. MoU between University of Cambridge and Presidency University, Kolkata seeks to establish collaboration in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences which will include all forms of academic exchange between two universities in all disciplines under Arts and Humanities.
