The High Commissioner of India, Mr. Nalin Surie, has learnt with great sorrow of the sad demise of Mr. Michael Foot, a great friend of India, one of the finest Parliamentarians of his day and an orator of great repute.  Mr. Michael Foot was associated with the leaders of India’s Freedom Struggle and a very active President of the India League.  Mr. Foot was closely associated with the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial at Tavistock Square.  He will be greatly missed.
